This is dedicated to giving you outlets that doesn't harm you.
Many of you may be or have been self harmers. So I want to provide you with ways to distract yourself from hurting yourself. I hope this helps.
- Paint your nails- this doesn't appeal to everyone but it does help. here is a video for some ideas
2. Play a game- Whether it is a card game, app, online game, it is a distraction and it gets you mind off of things.
3. Read a book- This one is something I have done a lot and it helps me every time.
4. Write out how you feel- This isn't exactly a distraction, but it does help. Writing out your feelings allows you to find solutions and work through the mess that is your mind. It gets all your emotions out without you having to talk to someone else. This is especially great if you are not good at talking to people about your feelings like me.
5. Spend time with friends- Whether they be online friends or real face-to-face friends.
6.Listen to music- Music has been a huge part of my life and has helped me distract myself from what's bothering me. It has also allowed me work out my problems without interruptions.

8. Redecorate! Whoo! Haha no but really, go through and organize and redo your room! Here are some ideas from Youtube! (If you haven't notice, I love Youtube!)
9. Exercise- not the most exciting thing to do, but at least your being healthy while distracting yourself. Exert that energy you would otherwise use to hurt yourself.
10. Put on fake tattoos- I have a friend who does this a lot. She either draws on herself or on her friends. It is entertaining and I hear this actually helps.
11. Scribble- You remember what drawing was when you were a kid? Just scribbling on a piece of paper. In your head this was a master piece, but to others, it was randomly drawn lines on paper.
12. Cuddle with a stuff animal- They are soft and fluffy and make great companions when you are sad!
13. Play with your pet- Do you have a dog or cat or something that is sweet and cuddly? Go play with them! My dogs help me so much when I am sad, they some how find a way to make me laugh and they don't complain if I cry on them when I hug them.
14. SCREAM!- Just go outside and find a place to scream as loud as you want! Get out all the anger, frustration, sadness or whatever you are feeling.
15. Dance- Dance in your room like nobody is watching(likely hood is no one is, it is your room right?). Just play some music and turn it up and just dance whether you have the rhythm or not.
16. Tea- Whenever I am feeling sad and lonely, I fix a hot cup of green tea and wrap myself in blankets.
17. Eat- Eat your comfort food
18. Watch Something- go to YouTube(I suggest Danisnotonfire or Pewdiepie) or watch Netflix( I suggest Doctor Who)
19. Cook/bake- cook or bake something you enjoy like chocolate chip cookies or Lasagna.
20. Make a Happy Box- grab a random box and fill it with things that make you happy, go to this box when your sad to help you feel better.
21. Make a wish jar- Get a jar and write on scraps of paper what you wish for, throw away the wishes once they have been accomplished.
22. Wrap yourself in blankets- Wrap yourself in the warmth and protection of a blanket and let it be your barrier of the things that make you sad.
23. Do something productive- do you have something that needs to be done? Take the time now to work on it instead of focusing on something that hurts.
24. Take pictures- take your phone or camera and take some pictures. Go outside for some fresh air and take some beautiful pictures.
25. Viciously stab an orange- or any other fruit. If you are angry or upset, it's a great way to work out your anger without hurting anyone. Careful to not cut your fingers in the process.
26. POP! balloons- take your anger out on a balloon.
27. Build then DESTROY- build something with the specific task to destroy. Let out your inner Godzilla!
28. Throw ice cubes- throw them at a bathroom wall or something along those lines and let out your pint up anger.
29. Calm jar- fill a jar or something similar with water, food coloring, and glitter and shake it when you're upset.
30. Breaking plates- use a cheap plate and decorate it with things that are making you sad or upset and then smash it. Careful of the glass though.
